Pre-setup notes
If you haven't already you will need to download and install the WIFIPLUG app from the Apple App Store and login with your WIFIPLUG account. For help with this process please refer to this guide and then return here to continue setting up your WIFIPLUG HOME.
Following the steps below will add your WIFIPLUG HOME to your WIFIPLUG account as well as your Home app for use with Apple HomeKit. To learn more about the differences between setting up WIFIPLUG HOME through either the WIFIPLUG app or Home app, click here.
Note for users re-installing HOME
This only applies if you have previously setup your WIFIPLUG HOME and are now re-installing it.
Please make sure that every instance of your WIFIPLUG HOME has been deleted from the WIFIPLUG app and Home app (iOS) before setup to avoid potential connectivity issues.
Step 1)
Plug your WIFIPLUG HOME into any mains socket within range of your router and activate pairing mode by pressing and holding the button on the front of the plug for 3 seconds. Pairing mode is activated when the blue light is visible and flashing.
Step 2)
Open the WIFIPLUG app and login to your WIFIPLUG account. Head to the 'Devices' page (navigation drawer > Devices) and press the add icon in the top right corner.
Step 3)
A prompt will appear asking if you are setting up a HomeKit enabled device. Press 'Yes'.
Step 4)
Scan the unique accessory code located on the side of the plug or in your user manual.
Step 5)
Select your WIFIPLUG HOME from the list of available accessories. Your plug will appear with the name "WIFIPLUG-HOME-####". When asked if you'd like to "Add Accessory to Network" press "Allow".
Step 6)
The app will now be configuring your WIFIPLUG HOME.
Step 7)
Once setup has completed your plug will blink 3 times. You can now give your plug a name and configure settings for use within HomeKit. Press "Done" to return to the WIFIPLUG app.
Congratulations!
Your WIFIPLUG HOME is now ready for use.
