If you are receiving an error stating that "The setup code is not correct" please follow the steps below.
This article only applies to WIFIPLUG HOME on iOS.
Cause of error
This error is caused by the incorrect setup code for your WIFIPLUG HOME being scanned or entered during setup.
Step 1)
When you receive the error, press "Enter code manually". From here please enter the code shown on the side of your WIFIPLUG or in your user manual. This will resolve the problem if the app was unable to scan the code correctly.
Step 2)
Please check that you are setting up the correct plug for the accessory code you are using. The last four characters of your WIFIPLUG's Wi-Fi network will match the last four characters of the WIFIPLUG's MAC address shown on the rear of the unit. This will resolve the problem if you were trying to setup the wrong WIFIPLUG by mistake.
For example: the MAC address of "WIFIPLUG-HOME-1A2B" would look like: "7C7A53031A2B" or "7C:7A:53:03:1A:2B".
Step 3)
Please check that the setup code shown on the side of your WIFIPLUG matches the code shown in your user manual. Should the two codes not match, please use the one shown on the side of your WIFIPLUG and not the one in your user manual. This will resolve the problem if a different code was printed in your user manual by mistake or if the manual you're using for setup was included with a different WIFIPLUG.
Step 4)
When you receive the error, press "Enter code manually". From here please enter "000-11-222" as the setup code. This will resolve the problem if the Apple HomeKit chip inside your WIFIPLUG has been reset.
Step 5)
Please contact Technical Support. Please include your order details and mention that you have followed the suggestions in this article. Your WIFIPLUG may need replacing and providing this information will speed up the process.
