If you haven't already, you will need to download and install the WIFIPLUG app from the Google Play Store. Please see this guide on how to setup your WIFIPLUG account then return to this guide to complete setup of your WIFIPLUG HOME.
Please make sure that you are connected to the network you wish to add your WIFIPLUG HOME plug to before setup.
Please make sure that mobile data is disabled before attempting setup as it can interfere with and cause problems during the setup process.
Setting up WIFIPLUG HOME on an Android device will not allow you to use Apple® HomeKit™. To use Apple® HomeKit™, please use this guide to setup your WIFIPLUG HOME. You will then be able to login to your WIFIPLUG account on your Android device to control it.
Note for users re-installing HOME
This only applies if you have previously setup your WIFIPLUG HOME and are now re-installing it.
Please make sure that every instance of your WIFIPLUG HOME has been deleted from the WIFIPLUG app and Home app (iOS) before setup to avoid potential connectivity issues.
Plug your WIFIPLUG HOME into any mains socket within range of your Wi-Fi router then press and hold the button on the plug for 3 seconds to put the plug into Sync Mode.
Open the WIFIPLUG app and login to your WIFIPLUG account. After logging in, press the add (+) button to access the device selection menu. You can also access this menu by going to the Settings page and selecting 'Add new device'.
Select the option labelled "HOME". It will be represented by a house icon. You will now need to connect to the available WIFIPLUG-HOME-#### network before you can continue with the setup process.
After your mobile device is connected to your plug, please return to the WIFIPLUG app and press the continue arrow (>) in the bottom right corner.
Please note: after connecting to your plug you may be prompted that the network you are connected to does not have access to the Internet. While this is correct you needn't worry. The plug's network does not have access to the Internet as it's only purpose is to allow your mobile device to communicate with it. If you receive this prompt you can simply ignore it.
You will now be asked to enter a name for your new plug and provide your home network credentials so your plug can connect. Your network credentials are not stored within the app nor are they shared with the cloud.
The app will have already filled in the 'Network name' field for you but if you would like to connect your plug to a different network or the app detected the wrong network, please re-enter it in the field.
Please note: both the 'Network name' and 'Password' fields are case sensitive.
After entering the required information press the continue arrow (>) in the bottom right corner to begin configuring your new plug. This process can take up to a minute and may temporarily freeze so please be patient. The app will tell you if anything went wrong.
Help: if you receive a message that says "Please connect to the network you entered in the last step", please leave the app (but don't close it completely) and connect your mobile device to the network you entered on the previous page. Once connected please return to the WIFIPLUG app. The app will then be able to complete the setup of your plug.
Welcome HOME! Your WIFIPLUG HOME is now ready for use. Press the 'DONE' button in the bottom right corner to return to your device list where your plug will be waiting for you.
